Rainbow Trout

Luxemburg, Wisconsin, offers surprisingly good opportunities for Rainbow Trout fishing in its network of smaller streams and tributaries that feed into Lake Michigan. While not as famous as some of the larger rivers further north, these streams provide a more intimate and less crowded fishing experience. Spring and fall are prime times, coinciding with trout stocking and spawning runs. Focus your efforts on the Kewaunee River and its feeder creeks; these are regularly stocked and offer decent public access. A local tip: be mindful of water levels, as these streams can be heavily influenced by rainfall. Low, clear water requires a stealthy approach and lighter tackle. Remember to check the Wisconsin DNR regulations for specific stream closures and size/bag limits, as some sections may have special rules to protect spawning fish. The Rainbows here aren't known for trophy size, but their feisty nature in these smaller waters makes for exciting fishing.
