Looking for a Wisconsin Rainbow Trout adventure? Consider Mishicot, where the East Twin River offers some excellent opportunities. This river is known for its relatively clear water and good flow, creating ideal conditions for Rainbows, especially during the spring and fall runs. While the East Twin isn't a massive river, it holds some surprisingly large fish. Spring, particularly after ice-out, is prime time as the trout are actively feeding. The fall run, when they're heading upstream to spawn, is another excellent window. A good access point is near the County Road B bridge – there's some public land there. Keep in mind that water levels can fluctuate quickly after heavy rains, so check conditions before you go. Nymphing and streamer fishing are popular and effective techniques here. The Rainbows in the East Twin are known to be aggressive, so don't be afraid to experiment with your presentation.
