Rainbow Trout

Whitehall, Wisconsin offers some fantastic opportunities to target Rainbow Trout in its local streams and rivers. The Trempealeau River and its tributaries are the main draws here, offering a mix of riffles, runs, and pools that hold wild and stocked rainbows. Spring and fall are prime times, as the trout are more active in the cooler water temperatures. Early morning and late evening are often productive, especially during the warmer months. Wading can be tricky in some areas due to slippery rocks, so felt-soled boots or wading staffs are highly recommended.
