Fishing as a solo angler will maximize your catching potential. Making that 'Inshore Slam' you've been hoping for- much more attainable. The fish on these flats will test your ability to be quick and accurate. By fishing with Capt. Mark one on one you have the potential to capitalize on each and every shot you get. Safety, weather conditions, less boat weight, and better interaction between you and your captain are some additional reasons a solo angler trip is recommended. Capt. Stuart, Florida, is a premier destination for Snook, thanks to the St. Lucie River and the Indian River Lagoon. These brackish waterways offer ideal nursery grounds and habitat for Snook. The best time to target them is during the warmer months, especially around dawn and dusk, when they are most active. Live bait like pilchards or shrimp are highly effective, but artificial lures such as swimbaits and jerkbaits also produce well. Focus your efforts around docks, mangroves, and bridges, as these structures provide cover and ambush points. A local tip: The Roosevelt Bridge and the Jensen Beach Causeway are known Snook hotspots. Be aware of seasonal closures and slot limits, as Snook regulations are strictly enforced in Florida. Also, be prepared for a strong fight – Snook are known for their powerful runs and acrobatic jumps.
