Tarpon
If you're looking for Tarpon, Stuart, Florida, offers some fantastic opportunities, especially during the spring and summer months when these silver kings migrate through the area. The St. Lucie River and the Indian River Lagoon are key locations, offering both backwater and nearshore fishing. Focus on areas with strong tidal flow, such as inlets and bridges, where Tarpon congregate to feed. Live bait like crabs, mullet, or pinfish are highly effective, but large artificial lures can also entice strikes. A practical tip: Fish around the bridges at night, using underwater lights to attract baitfish and Tarpon. The causeways leading to Hutchinson Island are particularly productive. Remember that Tarpon fishing in Florida is primarily catch-and-release. Handle these magnificent fish with care and use appropriate tackle to minimize stress.
