Snook

While not as common as redfish or speckled trout, snook can be found in the Galveston Bay system near Beach City, especially during the warmer months. Though Texas isn't their primary range, they are becoming more frequent catches as water temperatures rise. Look for them around structure such as docks, jetties, and submerged vegetation in the bay and its tributaries. The warmer months, particularly late summer and early fall, offer the best chance of encountering snook. Live shrimp or small baitfish are excellent bait choices.
