Snook

Tiki Island, Texas, offers a fantastic opportunity to target snook in a unique coastal environment. While not as abundant as in southern Florida, snook can be found around the docks, canals, and jetties that characterize the area. The warmer months, from late spring through early fall, are generally the most productive for snook fishing. Look for them in areas with good tidal flow and structure. A local tip is to fish around the lighted docks at night. Snook are ambush predators and often congregate near lights to feed on baitfish. Live shrimp or small baitfish are highly effective baits, but artificial lures like swimbaits and jerkbaits can also produce. Access to these areas is readily available from Tiki Island and nearby Galveston. Be aware that snook are sensitive to cold temperatures, so their activity may decrease during colder periods.
