Striped Bass

Lake Havasu City is a unique desert oasis, and surprisingly, it's also a great place to chase striped bass. The Colorado River flows through the lake, providing a consistent source of nutrients and creating ideal habitat for stripers. The cooler months, from late fall through early spring, are generally the most productive. During this time, the stripers are more active and can be found in shallower water. Topwater lures can be incredibly effective at dawn and dusk. As the water warms, focus on deeper areas near the dam or in the main river channel. Live shad or anchovies are popular bait choices, especially when fished on downriggers or with lead-core line. The lake can get extremely busy with recreational boaters, especially during the summer, so plan your trips accordingly. The Windsor Beach boat ramp provides excellent access to the lake's prime striper fishing areas.
