Striped Bass

If you're looking to tangle with some hard-fighting striped bass in Kentucky, Beaver Dam offers some solid opportunities. The area benefits from its proximity to the Green River and several smaller lakes and reservoirs that have been stocked with stripers. Spring and fall are prime times, as the stripers become more active in cooler water temperatures and pursue baitfish near the surface. Tailwater areas below dams can be particularly productive during these seasons. For bank access, try the river access points near the town, but be aware that water levels can fluctuate rapidly due to dam operations. A boat will give you the most flexibility to cover water and find where the fish are holding. Trolling large crankbaits or live bait are popular and effective techniques for targeting these aggressive predators in the deeper waters.
