Striped Bass

While not as common as in some other areas, striped bass fishing is possible near Shannon, Mississippi, primarily in the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. These fish migrate throughout the system, offering anglers a chance to hook into a trophy. Spring and fall are generally the best times to target stripers, as they move in response to water temperature and baitfish availability. Focus on areas around locks and dams, as these structures often concentrate fish. Trolling with large crankbaits or swimbaits is a popular technique.
