White Bass

Smyrna, Tennessee, offers some exciting opportunities for white bass anglers, especially during their spring spawning runs. Focus your efforts on the Stones River, particularly the areas below Percy Priest Dam. This tailwater fishery is known for drawing large numbers of white bass as they migrate upstream to spawn. The peak season is typically March through April, but you can often find them schooled up in the river throughout the summer months as well. For bank access, try the areas around the lower portions of the river near Smyrna. A local tip: Pay close attention to water releases from Percy Priest Dam, as higher flows can concentrate the fish and create excellent fishing conditions.
