Focus your efforts in the local streams and rivers that feed into Kachemak Bay. These Dollies are opportunistic feeders, gorging themselves on salmon eggs and flesh. Matching your presentation to the prevalent forage is key. Try beads that imitate salmon eggs or flesh flies. Don't overlook the smaller creeks; even a small stream can hold surprisingly large Dollies. A practical tip is to access some of the less pressured creeks by hiking in from the main roads. Be mindful of water levels, as heavy rains can quickly blow out the streams. The Dollies in the Homer area are known for their bright coloration, especially during spawning season, offering beautiful photo opportunities alongside great fishing.
