Flounder

If you're targeting flounder near Kingsland, Georgia, you're in a prime location where the St. Marys River meets the Atlantic. This estuary system is a flounder haven, particularly during the spring and fall migrations. As the water warms in the spring, flounder move inshore from their offshore spawning grounds, and again in the fall as they head back out. Focus your efforts on areas with good current flow near docks, oyster bars, and creek mouths – these spots hold baitfish that flounder ambush. Live mud minnows or finger mullet rigged on a Carolina rig are hard to beat. A local tip: the area around Crooked River State Park offers good bank access and kayak launching.
