King Mackerel

Lantana is a great jumping-off point for pursuing King Mackerel in the Atlantic. These speedsters are a favorite among offshore anglers, and Lantana's proximity to productive waters makes it ideal. The best time to target King Mackerel is during the warmer months, typically from late spring through early fall, when they migrate closer to shore. Look for them around reefs, wrecks, and natural ledges in depths of 60 to 120 feet. Trolling live bait, such as blue runners or Spanish mackerel, is a highly effective technique.
