Largemouth Bass

Grand Blanc offers some excellent largemouth bass fishing in its many inland lakes and ponds. While not a trophy bass destination, you can find plenty of action and decent-sized fish in waters like Thread Lake and Mott Lake. Spring and early summer are ideal, as the bass move shallow to spawn. Target weed beds, docks, and any other structure you can find. Plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits are all effective lures. Later in the summer, focus on deeper water and weed lines. A local tip: Many of the smaller lakes and ponds are accessible from shore, making them great options for anglers without a boat. Be aware that some areas may have limited parking, so arrive early. The bass in this region tend to be aggressive and willing to strike, making it a fun place to hone your skills.
