The spawn occurs in late May and early June, and the fish are actively feeding before and after. Look for largemouth around lily pads, submerged vegetation, and docks. A productive technique is flipping and pitching soft plastics into heavy cover. Consider using weedless rigs to avoid snags. Be aware that some lakes have private access, so research public access points beforehand. The largemouth bass in this area can reach impressive sizes, so be sure to bring your A-game and heavier tackle. Local anglers often find success using topwater lures early in the morning or late in the evening.
