Largemouth Bass

Just a stone's throw from Hi-Nella, Lindenwold offers access to some decent Largemouth Bass fishing in its surrounding waterways. Lakes like Clementon Lake and several smaller ponds and reservoirs hold populations of bass. These waters are typical of South Jersey – shallow, weedy, and stained, perfect for largemouth. Spring is the best time to target bass as they move into shallow water to spawn. Focus on areas with submerged vegetation, docks, and fallen trees. Plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits are all effective lures. Summer can be productive, but you'll need to fish early or late in the day to avoid the heat. Topwater lures can be deadly around lily pads and weedlines at dawn and dusk. Many of these lakes have public access points, but parking can be limited, especially on weekends. Be mindful of local regulations regarding boat launches and horsepower restrictions. The bass here aren't generally trophy-sized, but you can find plenty of fish in the 1-3 pound range, and the occasional larger one.
