Northern Pike

Northern pike offer exciting fishing opportunities near Beach Park, particularly in the Chain O'Lakes and associated waterways. These predatory fish thrive in the weedy shallows and backwaters of these interconnected lakes and rivers. Spring, just after ice-out, and fall, as water temperatures cool, are prime times to target pike. Look for them near weed beds, points, and areas with submerged structure. Large spinnerbaits, spoons, and crankbaits are effective lure choices, as are dead bait rigs. A local tip: use a wire leader to prevent pike from biting through your line.
