Northern Pike

Looking to tangle with some Northern Pike in northern Illinois? Capron, Illinois, offers some under-the-radar pike opportunities, primarily within the Kishwaukee River and its associated backwaters. What makes this area unique is the relatively undeveloped nature of the river, offering the pike plenty of cover in the form of submerged logs, weed beds, and undercut banks. Spring, right after ice-out, is prime time, as the pike move into shallower areas to spawn. Fall is also excellent as they aggressively feed before winter.
