Northern Pike

Northern Pike fishing around Grant Park, Illinois, can be surprisingly good, especially in the Kankakee River. Pike in this area aren't known for trophy sizes, but they are plentiful, providing consistent action and a great opportunity to hone your skills. Be sure to use a wire leader to prevent bite-offs, as pike have razor-sharp teeth.
