Rainbow Trout

While Beloit isn't typically known as a trout hotspot, determined anglers can find stocked Rainbow Trout in some of the smaller streams and waterways in the surrounding area. These are often supported by local stocking programs, so it's worth checking the Wisconsin DNR stocking reports before planning your trip. Spring and fall are generally the best times to fish for trout, as water temperatures are more favorable. Small spinners, spoons, or even live bait like worms can be effective.
