Rainbow Trout

If you're looking for rainbow trout near Waupaca, Wisconsin, the Tomorrow River and its feeder creeks offer some excellent opportunities. These streams are regularly stocked, providing consistent action for anglers. The best time to target rainbows here is in the spring, immediately after stocking, and again in the fall when water temperatures cool down. Small spinners, worms, and artificial trout baits are usually very effective. Fly fishing with nymphs or small streamers can also produce results. Public access is available along much of the Tomorrow River, especially near the village of Nelsonville. Be aware that some stretches are subject to special regulations, so be sure to check the Wisconsin DNR regulations before you fish.
