Spotted Bass

If you're chasing Spotted Bass near Dunwoody, Georgia, focus your efforts on the Chattahoochee River. While not as abundant as Largemouth Bass further south, the 'Hooch holds a healthy population of Spots, particularly in the rocky shoals and deeper pools. Spring and fall are generally the best times to fish, as the water temperatures are moderate and the bass are actively feeding. Try fishing upstream of bridge pilings or near submerged timber. A Carolina rig with a plastic worm or a crankbait that mimics local forage fish can be effective.
