Striped Bass

While Adairville isn't typically known as a striped bass hotspot, it's worth exploring the larger reservoirs and rivers within driving distance for the chance to hook into one of these powerful fish. Specifically, consider Lake Malone or Barren River Lake. These lakes are stocked and have populations of stripers. Spring and fall are the prime times to target stripers as they move closer to the surface to feed. Trolling with large crankbaits or live shad is a common and effective technique. Look for areas with significant depth changes or near the dam. Also, pay attention to the water discharge schedules as current can concentrate baitfish and, consequently, stripers.
