Walleye fishing near Ridgefield Park, NJ, is a challenge, as they aren't as prevalent in the immediate vicinity. However, a worthwhile trip to the Monksville Reservoir or Greenwood Lake, both within about an hour's drive, could yield some success. These lakes are known to hold walleye, although they're not always easy to catch. Spring and fall are the best times to target walleye, particularly during the pre-spawn and post-spawn periods. Focus on fishing around structure such as submerged rocks, points, and drop-offs. Jigs tipped with minnows, crankbaits, and trolling are all effective techniques.
