Brown Trout

While Mequon isn't typically the first place that comes to mind for brown trout, the Milwaukee River and its tributaries offer a unique urban fishing experience. The river supports a stocked population of brown trout, providing anglers with a chance to catch these fish close to the city. Spring and fall are the most productive times, as the trout are more active in cooler water temperatures.
