Flathead Catfish

Richton, Mississippi, is a great place to pursue flathead catfish, especially in the Leaf River. These nocturnal predators thrive in the river's deep holes, around submerged logs, and under cut banks. The warmer months, from late spring through summer, are prime time for flathead fishing, as they become more active and aggressive. Live bait is key, with bream and bullheads being local favorites.
