While not a trophy destination, it offers a chance to target this species close to town. The best time to target Brown Trout here is during the fall spawning run, typically from late September through November. Browns will migrate upstream to spawn, making them more accessible to anglers. Early spring can also be productive as browns recover from spawning. Fly fishing with streamers or nymphs can be effective, as can spin fishing with small spoons or spinners. Access to the rivers is generally good, with several public access points available. Be aware of water levels and clarity, as heavy rains can impact fishing conditions. A good local tip is to focus on areas with deeper pools and undercut banks, as these provide cover for the trout.
