Flathead Catfish

The Arroyo Colorado near Rio Hondo, Texas, is a surprisingly good spot for targeting flathead catfish. These whiskered giants thrive in the slow-moving, murky waters of the Arroyo. The best time to target them is during the warmer months, from late spring through early fall, when they are actively feeding. Look for them around submerged logs, undercut banks, and deeper holes.
