Walleye fishing near Sea Isle City requires a bit of a drive, as they aren't typically found in the immediate vicinity. However, heading northwest towards the Delaware River or some of the larger reservoirs in northern New Jersey opens up possibilities. The Delaware River, in particular, holds a decent population of walleye. Spring and fall are the peak seasons, especially during the post-spawn period in spring and as water temperatures cool in the fall. Focus on areas with current breaks, rocky bottoms, and deeper pools. Jigs tipped with minnows or nightcrawlers are a classic walleye presentation. Trolling crankbaits along channel edges can also be effective. Be prepared for potentially strong currents in the Delaware River, and use appropriate weights to keep your bait in the strike zone. Before heading out, check the river's water levels and flow rates, as these can significantly impact walleye activity.
