Fresh cut bait is essential – shad, herring, or even commercially prepared catfish baits can be effective. Be aware of the strong currents in both rivers, and always prioritize safety. Access points along the Platte can be found at various bridge crossings and public recreation areas. For the Missouri, look for designated boat ramps and fishing access sites.
